| A tribute to a legend is made even more special, thanks to R&S |

Overview Janfest ‘10 was a tribute to Ustad Allahrakha Khan, a legend, who was the country’s leading tabla exponent of the Punjab Gharana. The event articulately and aesthically revolved around the life and times of Abbaji (as they fondly call him). The event was a profound expose of his works, awards and accolades, his contribution to music and society at large.
Analysis The event had a host of musicians performing which included Ustad Taufiq Qureshi on the tabla taal, Shri Yogesh Samsi - tabla, Ustad Shujaat Khan - sitar, Rahul Sharma - santoor, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia - flute, amongst many others. Ustad Rashid Khan and Begum Parween Sultana lent their vocals and gave Hindustani music a whole new dimension. When the organizers of Janfest ‘10 approached us to provide sound reinforcement for the event, we readily agreed as we felt privileged and confident to meet the high expectations of these renowned performers. The Solution There was a lot of effort and long hours that had been put by our team to set up the sound reinforcement system in the quadrangle of the college. We focused on providing a high SPL and a good coverage of that sound. The main speakers were flown for uniform coverage and the emphasis was on the low frequency sub woofers. The R & S team was very quick in setting up the system and remained on site for the entire event in case any problem or issues arose. The Result All this work was made to make this tribute exquisite and ultimately Janfest ‘10 became a huge success. |
